Aircraft & Regulations

Simplify Aviation aircraft are designed within the Light Sport Aircraft and Experimental Amateur-Built frameworks. The Marlin also meets FAA amphibious sport platform rules and the motor-glider definition. Specific regulatory classification should be confirmed with our team based on your intended operation.
Yes. The Marlin and Marlin Signature Series can be flown with a Sport Pilot certificate — no medical required. The Marlin can be flown under Part 103 with no certificate at all, or as a motor-glider with just a logbook endorsement.
E-AB is an FAA category where the builder assembles at least 51% of the aircraft. The Marlin Quick Build Kit is FAA-inspected and on the approved kit list. This makes your inspection much easier.
Both options are available. The Marlin and Marlin are offered as ready-to-fly (RTF) finished aircraft or as quick-build E-AB kits. The Marlin Signature Series is a defined finished aircraft program.
The Marlin is designed as an amphibious platform within the LSA framework. Specific certification requirements depend on your jurisdiction. Our team provides guidance during the reservation process.

Performance & Specifications

The Marlin cruises at 95–120 mph. The Marlin cruises at Part 103 speeds (up to 63 mph). The Marlin II and Marlin specs are available upon request — contact our team.
The Marlin has a 300 lb payload (715 lbs gross, 415 lbs empty). The Marlin is designed to Part 103 weight limits. Full specs for all aircraft are provided during the reservation process.
The Marlin carries 12 gallons of fuel. The Marlin carries 4.15 gallons with ~4 hours endurance. Range varies with cruise speed and conditions. Detailed range data is available from our team.
The Marlin offers the Simplify Aviation V-Twin 60hp 4-stroke EFI or the Rotax 582 65hp. The Marlin uses the Polini 303DS with an electric option in development. Contact us for Marlin II and Marlin options.

Building & Delivery

Building & Delivery

The Marlin quick-build kit requires about 50 hours for the airframe, plus a few days for engine and panel. Builder assist centers in Florida and Ohio allow completion in about one week.
Production timelines vary by model and configuration. Current estimates are provided at reservation. Simplify Aviation operates structured production runs with honest, predictable delivery planning.

Yes. Customer build centers in Florida and Ohio provide tools, workspace, and hands-on assistance. Complete your aircraft in approximately one week with no special skills required.
Training

Training

Training requirements depend on your aircraft and regulatory pathway. Sport Pilot, Private Pilot, or no certificate (Part 103) may apply. See our Training page for detailed guidance.
Simplify Aviation provides factory familiarization and can connect you with transition instructors for amphibious operations, LSA transition, and type-specific training.
Water operations require dedicated training beyond standard flight training. Simplify Aviation provides resources, recommendations, and can connect you with amphibious-qualified instructors during owner onboarding.
